WEE-WOW DUMLAO, YONDAN (4th degree) - The founder and Chief Instructor of Gold Coast Aikikai is Wee-wow Dumlao, Yondan (4th degree black belt) and Shidoin (Certified Instructor), affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation (USAF) under the direction of Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan.

Wee-wow Sensei began her study of Aikido in November of 1985 at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and continued her training in Miami, Florida under Shidoin Nelson Andujar from 1986 to 1997. She remains active in her martial arts training - she regularly participates in seminars conducted by various Shihans and Shidoins from the US, Canada, Japan, and Europe. She has also conducted and assisted in seminars in the US, Canada, and Latin America.

Having cross-trained in the Filipino Martial Arts and Ju-jitsu, her style of Aikido practice is very intensive and practical, while retaining the fluid and graceful motions characteristic of Aikido techniques.

   
 

MAITE AZCOITIA, SANDAN (3rd degree) - Maite has been training in Aikido since 1996 and currently holds the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) and Fukushidoin (Certified Assistant Instructor) with the United States Aikido Federation (USAF) under the direction of Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan.

She is one of the founding members of Gold Coast Aikikai and teaches at the dojo on a regular basis. She is also responsible for the administrative functions of the dojo. In addition to teaching and attending classes at the dojo, she regularly attends seminars conducted by various Shihans and Shidoins.

   
 

EVELYN ACOSTA, SHODAN (1st degree) - Evelyn began her Aikido training in 2002 and currently holds the rank of Shodan (1st degree).

Evelyn is a dedicated student and attends seminars conducted by various Shihans and Shidoins. She helps with administrative duties at the dojo and teaches a class weekly.
